Macy Gray has come below fireplace for making controversial feedback about transgender girls.
The I Try singer appeared on Piers Morgan’s Uncensored TV present on Monday and controversially mentioned she does not contemplate those that transition from male to feminine girls, even when they’ve undergone surgical procedure.
“(A woman is) a human being with boobs. How about you start there? And a vagina!” she mentioned. “I will say this and everybody’s gonna hate me but – as a woman – just because you go change your parts, it doesn’t make you a woman, sorry… I know that for a fact.
“You need me to name you a ‘her’, I’ll, as a result of that is what you need however that does not make you a girl simply because I name you a ‘her’ and simply since you received a surgical procedure.”
The 54-year-old insisted she supports trans rights to fairness and equality, except in competitive sporting situations, but stated that being a woman is about more than body parts.
“Women undergo a unique expertise and surgical procedure and discovering your self does not change that. Being somewhat lady is an entire epic e book, you recognize? You cannot have that simply since you need to be a girl,” Gray added.
Morgan then mentioned the controversy surrounding Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling over her transgender comments, and she replied, “I do not suppose you ought to be known as transphobic simply since you do not agree with, you recognize. Gray received criticism on social media, with many users calling her “transphobic” and a TERF (trans-exclusionary radical feminist).
